Karen Lake-Shampaine sent out an email inviting the Tailwinds club to join her in a RUN/RIDE fund raising event to benefit the education of children in Rwanda. Karen has “adopted” an orphanage there and has visited the children and brought them gifts from the U.S. According to Karen, a gift of $15.00, the entry fee for the Run/Ride event, will pay to educate a child for one year. Some of our Tailwind members were happy to oblige. Karen provided all entrants with Danish, bagels, juice, coffee and lots of other goodies. The food alone was worth the entry fee not to mention the satisfaction of knowing that children would benefit from it tool.
